Cetechs, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) is looking for a Hospitalist to join our team of medical specialties in multiple locations across the United States. 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from an institution whose accreditation was in place for the year in which the course of study was completed.  
  • Experience: 2 years post Residency of Hospitalist experience
  • Licensure/Certifications: BC/BE in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Must be a US Citizen


Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Close supervision and education of internal medicine residents and medical students in all their clinical activities.
  • Participation in educational activities related to the internal medicine residency program.
  • Collaboration with the physician extenders and nursing care providers throughout the hospital.
  • Be a resource for Primary Care providers ensuring a smooth transition of patients from inpatient to outpatient settings.
  • Provide expertise in multispecialty and patient care related discussions.
  • As a staff physician in the Hospitalist section, you will be encouraged to participate in the development or on-going research, quality improvement and teaching as it relates to your professional interests.
  • Provide inpatient General Internal Medicine consultation services to non-teaching and non-medicine teams, including direct supervision and education of medical consultation house staff.
  • Provide inpatient internal medicine attending services including clinical procedures within your specialty area of expertise on the general medicine teams, and stepdown inpatient units.
  • Daytime hospitalists do take part in an evening jeopardy system in rotation if there is an emergency absence of attending physician coverage at night, whereby they may very rarely be asked to work with a night float team of medical residents covering medical inpatients, admissions and cross covering the ICU with the assistance/back up of intensivist personnel.
  • Function as an active member of the Hospitalist section in the Department of Medicine of the Syracuse Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
  • Maintain General internal medicine board certification and training.
  • You will be expected to serve on Peer review, and potentially other committees as requested by the Medical Center Director, Chief of Staff, Chief of Medicine or the Specialty Service Chief.
  • You will be expected to be in compliance with the Medical Staff bylaws and will complete all medical records timely through CPRS (Computerized Patient Record System) in accordance with VA Policies and Regulations.
  • All attending physicians are expected to participate in ongoing process improvements within their specific areas of expertise thereby promoting quality, efficiency, patient safety, and timely access to care for our veteran patients.
  • All hospitalists are asked to become involved in teaching internal medicine residents and undergraduate medical students (on their teams and in more formal undergraduate coursed teaching clinical skills and/or clinical reasoning).
  • Active participation at daily discharge planning meetings, daily noon report, grand rounds and Morbidity/Mortality (M&M) educational conferences for senior residents is expected for the best patient outcomes and educational experience for the residents.
